One of SDSU's main divisions, University
Relations and Development generates the external recognition, support and financial
resources the university needs to carry out its mission and to achieve
its aspirational goals.
Working with alumni, parents, donors and community,
University Relations and Development broadens the resources available to the university
to enhance academic quality and enrich the local and world community.
All of the units of University Relations and Development work
together to bring recognition and resources to the university. The
SDSU Alumni Association reconnects and grows relationships with
alumni. Marketing & Communications builds better understanding
of the university among the campus community, the media, community
leaders and elected officials. Development works closely with faculty,
volunteers and donors to help meet college- and program-specific
needs.
In addition, Mary Ruth Carleton, vice president of
University Relations and Development, serves as CEO of The Campanile Foundation,
the university's philanthropic foundation.
