Building a Legacy Beyond the Field
As a proud Aztec for life and former member of the men's lacrosse club team, SDSU alumnus Bob Lowe ('84) has remained deeply committed to the university and the club that helped shape his college experience for over 40 years.
San Diego State University alumnus Bob Lowe ('84) exemplifies a lifelong commitment to connection, service, and philanthropy.
A journalism graduate and former member of the SDSU men's lacrosse club, Lowe built a successful career in collegiate athletics communications and sports information, drawing on the skills and experiences he gained at SDSU. Today, he continues to use that expertise to support his alma mater and the club that helped shape his college experience more than 40 years ago.
SDSU men's lacrosse club is one of 24 sport clubs managed by Associated Students through the Aztec Recreation Sport Club Program, which provides students opportunities to compete at the state, regional, and national levels while developing athletic skills, leadership abilities, and meaningful social connections. Like many club sport alumni, Lowe credits those experiences with fostering lifelong friendships and a lasting connection to SDSU.
As the team prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary this fall, Lowe is playing a leading role in organizing the milestone reunion and bringing generations of lacrosse alumni back together. During alumni weekend, September 18-20, 2026, SDSU men's lacrosse club alumni will gather for a weekend of events, highlighted by the 50th Anniversary Breakfast Celebration at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on September 19 and the Annual SDSU Men's Lacrosse Alumni Game later that day.
Beyond his volunteer efforts, Lowe is investing in the future of the SDSU men's lacrosse club through a planned gift that will establish an endowment, helping ensure future students have access to the same opportunities, camaraderie, and life-changing experiences he enjoyed as a student.
Through his generosity and dedication to SDSU, Lowe demonstrates how alumni engagement can create a lasting impact on the university community.
Committed to honoring the history and legacy of the SDSU men's lacrosse club, Lowe hopes fellow alumni will join him in supporting the team's endowment.
