From Aztec Nights to Lifelong Friendship: Megan Varra Larson and Olivia Stevens

Megan Varra Larson ('19) and Olivia Stevens (’19) met during their first year at San Diego State University and have been best friends ever since. From late nights in UT Kitchen to celebrating graduations and standing beside each other as maid of honor and matron of honor, their Aztec friendship has continued long after college. 

Q: How did you two meet at SDSU?

On the corner of Campanile and Montezuma on the first Aztec Nights of our freshman year.

Q: What’s your favorite memory together from your time as Aztecs? 

We have many, including going to the NCAA tournament at Viejas Arena, visiting each other at our on-campus jobs at ShakeSmart and Ambassador, and late nights at Eureka. We lived in the same residence hall our first year, so our entire freshman year we bonded in UT Kitchen.

Q: How do you stay connected?

We’re best friends who talk on the phone, visit each other’s hometowns, and FaceTime any chance we get.

Q: What does your Aztec friendship mean to you?

Our Aztec friendship means the world to us. We have been through challenges, celebrations, and graduations together. We were each other’s maid/matron of honor, and it’s all thanks to UT.
